The problem
Families who teach at home have to show the council what their child has learned. In practice that means binders of worksheets and notes, pulled together in a hurry before the inspection.
What I built
A phone-first app where a photo of the work and one sentence is enough. SkoleLog suggests the subject and curriculum area, shows the school year subject by subject, and builds a single report the parent can share with the inspector through a protected link. The AI suggests, the parent decides, and children are never scored.
What made it hard
- Children’s privacy designed in: location data is removed from photos on the phone, before upload.
- Parents choose which photos count as work samples. Private photos never reach the AI.
- Shared reports protected by a PIN, with expiry and a record of every view.
- Photos stored in the EU and shown only to people with access.
